CHARACTERISTICS
Calcium silicate, also spelled calcium silicate, is a white odorless solid which is practically insoluble in water. Calcium silicate is found in its natural form in the mineral wollastonite (CaSiO3). It is obtained by a reaction of calcium oxide with silicon dioxide. Calcium silicate products have excellent thermal insulation and mechanical properties, making them ideal for high temperature applications up to 1100 °C, especially in back-up insulation for all types of furnaces. Calcium silicate fire protection and thermal insulation products protect people and equipment, save space and energy, and improve processes and efficiency.
